Refugee Employment Event BOUNCE#3 in Birmingham!

Another great BOUNCE event was delivered by REN Refugee Support Network in Birmingham on Tuesday 5^th September 2023. This follows on from successful events being held in Aberdeen, London, and Hitchin.

This event was hosted in partnership with the DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) with support from EY. The turnout was impressive, with 300+ refugees attending to meet 20+ UK employers, charitable organizations, tech groups and representatives from local government. Some of the employers in attendance included HSBC, Microsoft, Barclays, and EY.

The event was hosted at STEAMHouse, a spacious venue bringing together all the attendees in one space to foster a community feel and provide a valuable networking space. This combined employer event for literacy and language helped refugees to network with employers across the UK.

Feedback highlighted that the event was helpful in connecting employers and refugees together. It facilitated meaningful interactions and networking opportunities with esteemed employers. Notably, many refugees left the event with promising employment prospects, evidencing the tangible impact of the event’s success on the participants in attendance.
