COVID-19 Information& Update
REN has been asked to share some information that may offer some support and clarification through these difficult times.
As the COVID-19 cases are unfortunately increasing all over the country so we would like to detail the latest update on the government’s recent announcements.
The Prime Minister announced that adults in England without an A-level or equivalent qualification will be offered a fully funded college course. Funding for courses offering "skills valued by employers" will be made available from next April, and a full list of the courses will be announced next month. We will let you know when we have more information and we will post this on our website.
As cases rise we also wanted to make sure that our members are fully aware of the Test and Trace Support payment for those on a low income. From 28 September, people will be required by law to self-isolate if they test positive or are contacted by Test and Trace. To ensure that people on lower incomes are able to self-isolate without worry about their finances, people in receipt of benefits will be eligible for a new Test and Trace Support payment of £500. Those eligible for this new payment will be current recipients of Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, income-based Employment and Support Allowance, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Support, Housing Benefit and/or Pension Credit.
